Welcome to Gerard Talavera's LAB Why some insects migrate? How migratory behaviour has evolved? How species disperse? What geographical ranges temporary inhabit? We combine population genetics, phylogeography, genomics, behavioral tests, ecological niche modelling and fieldwork to study insect migration and dispersal: the evolution of migration, the ecology of long-range movements, tracking migratory routes and mapping genetic diversity across space. We are based at the Botanical Institute of Barcelona (CSIC).
